Gov. Quinn Visits Bell

Bell School was honored to host Governor Pat Quinn and other dignitaries on June 1, 2010.  At Bell, Governor  Quinn signed Senate Bill 226 into law to strengthen Illinois’ application for federal ‘Race to the Top’ funds.

“We are committed to doing everything we can in Illinois to make sure our students receive the highest quality education possible,” said Governor Quinn. “This law will ensure school principals receive the best training and put us in a good position to receive federal ‘Race to the Top’ funding.”  Read more about the bill here.  In addition to the bill signing, which took place at an assembly of students in the auditorium, the governor was able to visit a few classrooms.
