Raise Your Hand is a growing coalition of Chicago public schools and organizations associated with or advocating for public education. These members collaborate to influence state and local officials to provide appropriate, equitable and sustained funding for public education.

Raise Your Hand met with Diana Ferguson, CFO of CPS, to discuss tax increment funding (TIF) surplus and the importance of returning that money to CPS and other taxing bodies.  An outside independent firm has been hired to review this allocation. They will be presenting recommendations in October and the Chicago City Council will vote on this proposal. There is approximately $700 million dollars in available money.  The link http://www.noto37.org/GiveBackTIF/ sends a message to Mayor Daley and your alderman letting them know it is important to you that money does get sent to Chicago Public Schools to help alleviate the current budget crisis. It is easy and quick to complete this form. Your voice can be heard.  The No to 37 campaign helped fight the CPS crisis earlier and we can do it again with your help.
