The Bell School LSC
and Principal Selection Committee are pleased to announce that Sandra
Caudill has accepted a 4-year contract starting July 1, 2010 to
be Bell's next Principal. Mrs. Caudill is currently the Assistant
Principal of Bell School. We are confident that Mrs. Caudill's
experience and qualities will make her an effective leader in building
on the tradition of Bell School and to help further Bell’s missions and
goals.

A
native of a small rural town, Epworth, Iowa, Sandra Caudill grew up
with a passion for education and a heart for individuals who are deaf.
Mrs. Caudill holds a B.S. Ed. in Special Education from
Northern Illinois University, dual certification in Deaf Education and
General Education and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with an
emphasis in Educational Administration from Lewis University.
Mrs.
Caudill spent the first 12 years of her career at Kinzie School in
Chicago, teaching in a variety of general education and deaf
classrooms. Mrs. Caudill was a percussionist, vocal musician, and
oratory competitor in her youth. In 1995, she was recognized for her
efforts integrating Fine Arts into the classroom by Whirlwind
Performance Company in Chicago as a recipient of a Talented Teacher
Award.
In
August of 2004, Mrs. Caudill became the Assistant Principal at Bell
School where in addition to her many administrative duties, she has
taken an active role in supporting the Fine Arts program by reinstating
Sign Voice Theater and a percussion residency to support inclusive
opportunities for the deaf.
Mrs.
Caudill resides in Plainfield, Illinois, with her husband, three
children and two dogs. Mrs. Caudill and her family are active in their
church and community. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading,
scrapbooking, sewing, and spending time with her family outdoors.
