 Our 6+1 writing trait for the month of September was Ideas, the content and
theme of a piece and the details that support them.
The students and
teachers have been writing and evaluating papers focusing on this trait, and
have resulted in more interesting and detailed writing. The work on traits
continues in October when we look at Organization, the internal structure of
a piece of writing. The writing lessons in class will be focused on this
trait and how to improve it, so be sure to ask your child about them. If
you are interested in learning more about the 6+1 traits writing approach,
you are invited and encouraged to attend a workshop for parents on October
