Important Dates for September |

The first day of school for the 2010-2011 school year is Tuesday, September 7th for all students. This is a full day for everyone. In addition, please make a note of the following activities on your calendar.
New Parent Orientation is Tuesday, August 31st from 9:00-11:00 a.m. All kindergarten, first grade and new registrants should be receiving a mailing with the details. If you do not receive the information, please come on the 31st and verify all contact information with the main office. Babysitting will be available for children 3 and up. If you have any further questions, please contact the main office.
Parent Breakfasts
All breakfasts are held from 7:30-8:15 a.m.
Wednesday, September 15th 1st and 2nd grade breakfasts and resource teacher breakfast
Thursday, September 16th 3rd and 4th grade breakfasts
Friday, September 17th 5th and 6th grade breakfasts
Monday, September 20th 7th grade breakfast
Tuesday, September 21st 8th grade breakfast
Wednesday, September 22nd PreK-Kindergarten breakfasts
Thursday, September 23rd New Student Tea at 10:30 a.m.
Friday, September 24th School Planning Day-No school for students
Thursday, September 30th Schoolwide Open House 6-8 p.m. |

8th Grade Summer Meetings |

In preparation for your child’s eighth grade year, we would like to meet with you and your child to review some important policies which will hopefully ensure a successful year. We are scheduling these meetings over the summer during the months of July and August. Please select one of the following dates to attend this very important meeting with your child.
Monday, July 12th at 9:00 a.m.
Thursday, August 26th at 3:00 p.m.
Eighth grade is a very important year, and we strive for 100% of our students to graduate in June. With your help, we know this will be achievable. Thank you for making this a priority for you and your child. We look forward to meeting with you this summer. |

- Russian Cosmonaut Valentina Tereskova was the first woman in space in 1963.
- Serendipity Dauy Announcements; If any students do not have schedules for Serendipity Day, please send them down to the main office immediately following the morning announcements. students who are registered for skateboarding but do not have skateboard should still attend the session. We do have some extra skateboards which will be provided..
- LUNCH- All students should return to their homerooms after the second session. Lunches will be delivered to classrooms during second sessions and should be available when students return to homerooms. Teachers should help pass out lunches to students and then dismiss classes outside. K-3 students will eat outside on northplayground and 4-7. Students will eat on south playground.

Kindergarten Registration Dates |

The time for kindergarten registration for the 2010-2011 school year is upon us. The summer registration date is Wednesday, August 11th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Students must be 5 years old by September 1st, 2010 in order to enroll in kindergarten. Parents and/or guardians must bring an official copy of their child’s birth certificate (not a hospital or church record) and three proofs of address which should include a driver’s license, current utility bills and/or change of address form from the post office. Leases are not accepted. In addition to these documents, parents should have all emergency contact information including work phone numbers, your doctor's name and phone number as well as the names and phone numbers of two additional emergency contacts. Medical, dental and vision forms will be distributed at the time of registration for completion by the first day of school. If you cannot come on the 11th, you can still register your child on September 1st, 2nd, or 3rd between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please call the main office at 773-534-5150. The Bell School LSC
and Principal Selection Committee are pleased to announce that Sandra
Caudill has accepted a 4-year contract starting July 1, 2010 to
be Bell's next Principal. Mrs. Caudill is currently the Assistant
Principal of Bell School. We are confident that Mrs. Caudill's
experience and qualities will make her an effective leader in building
on the tradition of Bell School and to help further Bell’s missions and
goals.
